You are required to record and evaluate the process of completing the design project you are working on in "design large scale commercial interiors". This will include:
Stage 1: Planning
· Estimated work schedule/ timeline - create a Gantt chart timeline that includes all phases of the design process for your major project (week 1 - 18, semester 1, 2013). Make notes on a copy of this schedule with ACTUAL time spent on each stage of the project.
· Timesheets - to record the actual amount of time you spend on each stage of the project.
· Write a contract and fee proposal for your client
Stage 2: Implementation Document and record the process to be used to achieve design realisation. Records will include:
· Design blog – keep this to record the progress of your work and any feedback you receive (see notes page for detail).
· A record of correspondence with suppliers and any other stakeholders (in your blog or copies of emails).
· Documentation of existing ground floor toilet spaces. Refer to notes page for detail
Stage 3: Liaise and negotiate
Keep documents that show you are maintaining the original design integrity whilst negotiating design revisions with teachers:
· Include copies of drawings or photos of drawings presented at each stage of the project (w8,10,13) with feedback notes from these sessions.
· Reflect on this feedback on your design blog (see notes page for detail).
· Meeting minutes - Include documentation from the peer meetings in class.
· Correspondence with:
· Client – one letter or email informing them on the progress of the project & confirming information agreed on at the last meeting (project variation)
· Builder – one letter or email informing him of the project variation agreed on at client meeting.
Stage 4: Evaluation and Presentation
· Present the final solution to the client (week 18 final verbal presentation) in a clear, professional manner.
· Write an evaluation of the final design outcome against the original brief and project specifications on your blog.
